Hi Moonshadow and welcome to the site!
I get PAT which is a form of SVT. It comes out of the blue and usually when I am relaxed. I have also had this problem since I was 18 years old. I am now over 45.
Sometimes over the years the SVT has actually started while I was asleep and woke me up. This is a benign condition if your tests were negative. It is just very annoying and scary. My doctor doesn't want to ablate it because it doesn't happen often enough. I guess some people actually have to deal with this condition several times a day.
Being anxious does contribute to the problem. Just remember that these episodes will not hurt us. For me, the best way to calm my PVC's and PAT's is with reassurance from my doctor because my mind can really play headgames and before I know it, it takes control of the problem and creates more PVC's. When it gets to that point, I'm off to the doctor so that he can tell me I won't die and they will settle down. Sure enough, usually within 48 hours they settle down. All that extra adrenaline that our body produces with worrying all the time just keeps us in that "flight or fright" response which is what these skips feed off of.
Take care and try not to worry. Come back as often as you need to.
Jodie
