advice for bigmoo

Sorry, if this starts another conversaton thread that needs to be "closed", but I wanted to let you know that I also get PAT or PSVT. It isn't life threatening and what I have found to help is breaking up the beta blocker and taking 1/4 of the pill 3 times a day. Ask your doctor if you can try that as I don't know which one you are on. Most doctors are okay with that unless it is also used to control really high blood pressure.
I use Atenolol and it really helps with the SVT. I still get brief bursts (5 or 6 beats) but breaking the pill up keeps them better under control.

Oh, and Jeff.... When I took Xanax it did not make me fat!!! LOL

Jodie

Good advice. I won't say anything that will result in the thread being closed. I do believe that meds taken appropriately do a heck of a lot of good. A small quantity of beta blocker, or Xanax, taken under a doctor's supervision can make all of the difference between being miserable and being happy, without symptoms. So, here's to moderation, and doing what is necessary to feel healthful.

Hey now! What I've heard is that taking a benzo daily can increase appetite. According to what I've read it doesn't do anything more than that, but that's enough to cause people to put on pounds, on average.

But maybe for the more disciplined, or for those who don't take it often, it isn't an issue? I dunno.

As for Jodie's claim. Thus far? Unsubstantiated, if you know what I mean. LOL
