Another Question that has been on my mind about PVC's

Anyone ever get a "painful" PVC once in a while?

Yes, very occasionally. Still scares me but have been told it is normal. If it is new and has not been checked out should always get an evaluation from a doctor. Could actually be a muscle spasm not an actual PVC.

Yes I do. I have had a sore ribcage from a long slew of PVCs strung together, and have even had attacks of costochondritis brought on by PVCs. Chest x-rays were normal in both cases.

Nicole, I will save you doing that..lololol. It is an inflammation of the rib cage cartilage. It can be caused by physical injury, infection, or other types of stresses on the area between the ribs. The condition is benign, and normally clears up by itself.

I have costochondritis, inflammation of the ribs, and it can cause feelings just like a heart attack, but it isn't. It is benign, but sure not comfortable. My chiropractor helps some, but actually, it is something that has to clear on its own.

Know what works for costochondritis? If you have a big tub, soak in it, so that the water covers your thoracic area. Warm water seems to relax the inflammation. Obviously if you have a hot tub or jetted tub, the same applies. If not, a warm shower directed on the rib area works nicely. Also good are the thermo heating pads--the deep heat kind.

Katie will become famous soon enough
I do the tub thing too. It really does work as does the shower but correct me if I'm wrong I think inflammation is supposed to need icing not heating??!! But hey, whatever works. I pulled my intercostal muscles from deep breathing when I had non stop PVCs for weeks. It was hell the chest pain was horrible but it was mostly with breathing ( which I do quite often! )
