Anyone have ectopics with positional change?
Does anyone else find that their ectopic beats change with the position that you're in? I, personally find that when I am lying down, the PVCs virtually disappear. When I am sitting, skipping is the rule of the day, and when moving around or exercising, they disappear again. And, NO, it isn't the increased heart rate making them appear less frequent--cardiograms, and holters have shown this exact behavior. Just asking.

Yes, it is strange, but then again, the whole process of having PVCs is strange. My doctor was explaining that it is actually normal in a structurally healthy heart, with no disease factors. He said it is nature's way of compensating for electrical irregularities that we have in our hearts--that the SA node doesn't handle all of the firing impulses, so the ventricular nodes do so. His feeling is that it is a normal phenomenon, absent of anything irregular showing up on a holter, echocardiogram, or stress test. |
