Angry Buspar

Anyone here used Buspar(buspirone) and if so what are your thoughts on it? My dr. put me on it about 2 months ago and it seemed to work for a while in lessening my anxiety but then it seemed to just quit working. He upped the dose & it made me worse.

ive only heard bad stuff about buspar, worsening peoples anxiety, but thats not every one, for anxiety the meds that get the bests marks right now are celexa (which i am on) and lexapro, i hear lexapro is the best when it comes to least amount of side effects, also prozac is tried and true and works great for people also.

I have never tried it, and after all the negatives on it, I do not plan too either. I am one of the unlucky ones, I can not take anything like that, they all work opposite on me, drats. I hope you find what helps you.

That is a generalization. I know several people for whom Buspar works fabulously. MOST psychotropics are capable of a paradox reaction while you are getting used to them--they can create initially increased anxiety, until the system absorbs and gets familiar with the new chemical balance. This is why people stop drug therapy without giving it a chance.
