Why is it, since all the tests(EKG, Holter, echo, Thalium Stress Test, Heart Cath) say there is nothing (except Mild mvp) wrong with my heart, do I still freak out when I have mid-chest discomfort? Most times it turns out to be gas or indigestion. Sometimes there seems to be no explanation.As many years as I have had this,you'd think I would be used to it by now.

I get it too. Today I have left side chest pain. Still freaks me out. Makes me think Angina... lol My mind is crazy sometimes.

You know, accepting chest pain is hard to do. Obviously feeling a sensation in the heart area can freak anyone out. It could be you sleep funny and it cramps you up at times. Just remind yourself that it is NOT your heart. You know I have a friend who had a heart attack at 28. He said he knew what it was. It felt like an elephant sitting on his chest, he couldn't get a full breath. He turned grey, couldn't stop sweating....

Just keep that in mind.

Most chest discomfort is caused by three things: 1. legitimate indigestion or esophageal spasms. 2. Muscle aches from pulling something. 3. Costochondritis--inflammatory rib connective tissue, usually from a virus in the body.

All three are harmless.

I think a lot of mine may be esophageal spasms.

I get chest pain quite often- magnesium helps me tremendously with that
