crazy ? about varicose veins
Sorry in advance for the long post. I know this is the wrong forum for this but...there are not too many out there and I thought maybe some of you might be able to help. I had a closure procedure (closed off greater saphenous vein)done on my right leg due to some problems with varicose veins. The veins never went away and 2 1/2 months later I started with pain and new veins popping up in my leg. I also started with pain and veins in my left leg (never had any problem with my left leg at all).Went back to the dr. who sent me for MRV of pelvis to check for blockage. Everything was fine so he told me to have sclerotherapy and see if that helps. I am so afraid to do anything else now. I can deal with veins, but not the pain. Just wondering if anyone had anything similar or if you know anyone who has. Thanks, D

I had one huge vein in the back of my right thigh and one skinny one on my shin. I used to have pain only once a month (during "that time") and it was very bearable. I got superficial throbophlebitis in my veins and my dr. recommended getting them taking care of. I now have pain in both legs 5 days out of 7 and sometimes the left is worse than the right. I can understand problems in my right leg, but I cant' figure out the left. The only good thing is that it takes my mind off of my PVC's LOL!

I'm sorry about your pain. It's definately no fun! Funny how something else can happen and it can temporarily make you forget all about your PVC's! Happens to me as well!!! I hope you feel better real soon.

did,
Hi!! I have had 3 varicose veins removed- one left calf, one left thigh ( front), one right calf- all done at separate times in past several years. Only the last one, rt post calf did I have cramping off and on afterwards for several days. But I am totally pain free, "big" vein free, legs look and feel great!! I think I would get another dr's opinion.Good luck to you. |

I am unsure of the correct terminology... I had "stabs" in calf area ( he made tiny incisions and pulled the pieces out.The upper thigh and part of lower leg was with laser and a "burning" ends. I do have some discoloration of area if you look very closely, but as time goes on it has faded away. My legs feel SO much better now. I worked on my feet for many years and it added to the problem even though I wore those heavy, hot support stockings. I am sorry it has not gone well for you too. Get another opinion from a different dr if you are able. Good luck to you.
