Dr today went good and test results

Well the Dr did give me some Xanax today. I LOVE my primary Dr. He is AWESOME! He is so supportive of me and listens. His wife suffered from the same thyroid condition I did - and she has PVC's (he did at one point too) so he is very understanding. He gave me my test results - which no one ever did. He felt having me read them would help alleviate some fears. I had to smile because I broke down crying of course (shocker!) and told him I was so afraid of my heart stopping - so he HUGGED Me! I have never had my Dr give me a hug! God bless the old guy!! It wasnt perverted hug or anything lol ;-)

Anyway - my Stress/echo in 1/2010 showed no Ischemia, normal size left ventricle, normal wall thickness and left ventricular sytolic function is normal with estimate LVEF of 60-65% (??) No seen abnormalities, no arrythmias or ischemic changes. It does say post exercise ech - there was hyperdynamic response. (Not sure what that means)

In 9/2011 - Holter results - AvgHR - 80bpm, MinHR 51bpm, MaxHR 155bpm
Ventricular Ectopy - 66 rare isolated beats (good day! LOL)
Supraventricular Ectopy: 11 rare isolated beats
Pauses: none significant - longes R-R interval was 1.2 secs

WHen patient noted palpitations she was in sinus rythm with rare isaloated PVC
Conclusion: Sinus rhythm rare isloated PVCs and PACs

2nds Stress test 10/11
Ishemic changes - none significant
Arrthymias: Occasional Isolated PVCs
Conclusion: Good functional capacity 11.7 mets achieved
No significant ECG changes suggestive of ischemia

So this is what I do have - makes me feel better I guess. I need to move on dont I???

Christina

Glad the tests were normal. This confirms stress as the most probable trigger, and that you are not having any heart abnormalities when you get PVCs. Great news!!

HOORAY! I wish I could hug you too !!!!! now I think you'll sleep, eat and live better just knowing this information. I'm so happy for you and your doctor sounds amazing. You will be fine, and we are all with you here. If the doctor says that anti-anxiety medication will make you feel better, take it, and don't worry about stigmas of people who take medication for emotional illnesses. We have all been there, done that, and one needs to treat it as any other illness--follow the doctor's advice, eat appropriately, and take whatever meds help.

That doctor sounds like a keeper. Seriously - if you have one that is intelligent and listens and responds to your questions, hang onto that Dr.

And yeah, if the Dr gives you something, take it. I felt so stupid for not wanting to take any kind of antidepressant, because once I did, oh my god my life got a thousand times better.

Hang in! You're getting there! Baby steps!

Jeff, you are so right. Doctors see thousands of cases like those of us who are posting here, and they know what will benefit a large majority of us. That doctor is a keeper, and I feel similarly about mine--he's not afraid to provide reassurance, and the appropriate medications to provide relief. That is the name of the game in medicine.
