Endoscopy

Wow that was crazy! I decided to do it without meds since i may have an allergy to opiates and wow it was interesting. It hurt but it's done now. My heart rate was all over the place- they had it on a little finger thing I don't think those are accurate because it would go up to 80- then down to 54 then 70. ??? Anyways I could feel my heart beating fast and hard during the endoscope it made me feel so alive! Anyways they said small hiatal hernia and took a couple biopsies to see the damage done from celiac diagnosis and to 100 percent confirm - but the doctor said the biopsy could be false negative since I've been gluten free for awhile. He says he strongly feels its celiac because my positive bloodwork but the biopsy is the gold standard. So guys I made it! Wahoo!

Good for you! Seriously us skippers are probably the strongest people around. Physically and mentally. I did the colonoscopy without sedation too. Just too afraid of the drugs. Thank goodness there are doctors that are willing to do it that way. Our hearts never let us down, even in painful situations like that. The endoscope is when they put it down your throat right?

ive had both, all i was diagnosed with was GERD and anal fissures, sorry for the info lol, did both without sedation, i think the nastiest test was the barrium swallow, but i got through it all. ive been trying to figure this out, why is an asteroid an asteroid if its outside the hemisphere but called a hemeroid when its in your butt?

Wow!! You guys are crazy LOL Versed (usually what they give you for twilight anesthesia during those procedures) is great stuff and I would take it home with me if I could hahaha!!! Only I think I said some embarrassing things while on it. But man, felt REALLY nice.

Now, general anesthetic...that's another story...that scares the poo poo outta me!!!!!

I agree, we are pretty strong, even though we don't always feel like we are. LOL, we have to be to be able to deal with all we deal with daily.

Hey guys, they have this great stuff called Diprovan that is actually a hypnotic drug. They give it to you for these procedures and it's like you don't go to sleep but you don't remember ANYTHING. It's like flipping a light switch on & off.I used to be scared of being put to sleep but this stuff is great. Just ask Michael Jackson.LOL
