Facebook anyone?!?
Hello Skipping Hearts!
Technology is an amazing thing, and this site is proof. Here we all are - the unlucky few - spread out over the globe but this site offers a constant opportunity for us to get together and support each other through these difficult issues. Another opportunity presented itself recently, and it's really helped me out A LOT! I was really freaked out one night, panicing as usual about the PVC's, and I posted on my Facebook page via iPhone App that I hated heart palpitations. Within minutes, three or four of my friends that I had no idea struggled with this posted comments to my "status update". As we all know, spouses of we with the PVC (hahaha-that rhymes) also have a pretty tough time as they don't really get why if the doctor says we're fine, we don't just get over it. Last week my wife and I got together with a friend who's having PVC's with Tachycardic episodes for nearly five years and her relationship with her partner has been really taxed as a result. We ended up having dinner and talking pretty openly about our PVC's from both vantage points, and I felt like I felt better knowing someone locally (who I now at least text every day) who struggles with these issues and my wife got to talk with someone who understands her struggle with all of this. While we may not all have local friends we can talk to, I feel like we may be able to help each other via FB chat, or messages and establish a sort of live support scenario for the people on this site. I don't know if Skipping hearts wants to set up a group FB page, or we all just "Friend" each other, but I think there might be some good oportunities there. I have an iPhone with Facebook, and get updates as they happen. Pretty much every mobile phone has a FB application available, so keeping up on the run is pretty practical. In any case, if anyone else thinks this might be a good idea, my username is jphilly76 and feel free to friend me! It's just an idea. Thoughts? -Justin Brown |
