Fast Heartrate after skipped beat?

Does anyone else have a fast heartrate sometimes after a skipped heartbeat? My HR was under 80bpm then I had a skipped beat and its around 108

I've noticed it does this sometimes but not all the time.

Yes! Sometimes a PVC will throw my heart into PAT. My heart will skip (longer than normal pause) and wham, start up around 220 beats a minute. I hate those episodes and fortunately they don't happen very often. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year. But, the problem is, you never know when it will decide to take that other pathway after the PVC and trigger the PAT. I actually had all of this caught on a monitor at the hospital. And, I am told it is not life threatening. But I hate it all the same. 108 is not very fast so maybe you just got anxious after you felt the skip and it sped up. Mine gets "locked" at that rate for sometimes up to 5 minutes and then just as fast as it starts it just kicks back into the normal slower rate.
Take care
Jodie

Mine were caught on a monitor too. Every time I would inhale and exhale deeply after a skipped beat my heart would shoot to 110 and then go back down to 70. Its been over a year and I dont notice it anymore like I did when I was having all the trouble. When they found it they told me it was nbt a concern unless the rate went really high.

Yes, mine will do that too, but, I think for me it is due to the anxiety of having the ectopic beat and I go into fear mode, thus, the adrenalin releases and the heart speeds up. UGH, vicious circle.

That sounds like what I have. Often I have PVCs but sometimes a PVC and then afterwards my heart beats like crazy for a while. Sometimes ´just 150´, sometimes 230. The cardiologist says its supraventricular tachycardia.
I do wonder what the relationship then is between PVCs and SVT.

I have had a PVC trigger me into something really scary, what i call racing heart. I have only had like three of these ever, and there really scary because they go on for like 4-6 seconds.

I got them in high stress environments though which have all been eliminated from my life.

When I was waiting for my ablation I was watching the monitor and every time I would get a PVC the monitor would jump up to 120 the down to 50 and then several beats at 120 then back to normal. I assumed it is the monitor converting the pause and comp beats into bpm.

Actually when your hearts speeds up after a PVC for a few beats then slows down again , it s actually a sign of a good heart health and rhythm controll , it is called heart rate turbulence, much like heart rate variability, it's usually a marker of good heart health and is shown to decrease mortality in patients even with MI and heart disease.

I just had that feeling a few days ago, my heart was doing its normal 65 beats a minute, then, it started to go faster, then, it skipped a few beats, stayed fast, then all of a sudden went back to normal, I hate that.
