HR when sick....

So, I have been feeling pretty sick the past couple of days. Then today came on the sore throat, snuffiness and body aches. And yes, Ive had my flu shot. Anyway, my HR is staying around 100 or so. Does anyone else have this when sick? Does anyone know why our HR jump up?

it happends to me also when im sick, it will stay around 100-110 all day and night.

The heart accelerates it's rate when the body is stressed by a bacterial or viral infection, especially when accompanied by fever. If you are referring to a common bug that causes colds, gastronteritus, sinus headeches, etc., then the heart rate will rise in order to circulate immune cells and oxygen to the body in order to facilitate healing

Yupp....according to my family doctor, the normal heart rate jumps up to around 100-110 when sick, especially when one has a fever (even a low grade one). That is the immune system's response to an infection. He told me that once, and it was a great relief to know it.

DaniRae- I'm so sorry ur sick. I know my heart rate feels strong when I'm sick and my childrens hearts race so fast and strongly when they have fevers. It's really scary BUT seems to me to be completely normal.
