Another thing that still scares me, no doctor has yet to tell me how many are dangerous. I know my heart is healthy and such, but, I would still like to know. I can not get an answer from any of them.
This morning, my nerves were raw anyway, and when I felt those soft blips, I got scared thinking they were tuning up to get really bad, so, the adrenalin kicked in and I felt weird all over. I am a wee bit calmer, but still sort of crying. I must get over this, life is too short to live like that this all the time. |

You know I always seem to feel them when I am at the sink too. I know those type you are feeling. But, if your heart checks out okay it really would be a far stretch to be something other than some type of benign atrial beat. And, if you don't fall on the floor from them or feel pain then don't worry. Susie....you were just checked out and your doctor looked at strips and strips of ekgs. Whatever didn't get caught I am sure is just as benign as the rest of it. Move forward....take your walk....it is OK!!!!

I am better again now. I don't know why I had that episode that day, just because I guess.
The last two days have been great though. I am still sort of afraid of the shortness of breath, but, I have had that issues for years and years, it comes and goes, that was checked too, it was deemed as just nerves. I know Dr Weekes book says that when our lung muscles and chest muscles get tight, we can have this, so, that is probably my case. Oh well, this too shall pass. Thanks for being here for me and for all or your help, this forum is the greatest. |

Hi Susie! Sorry you are feeling bad. I am in the exact same spot as you. In fact I'm going on 2 hours of constant skips right now. Every few beats. Sucks! In supposed to go tonight with my family to supercross the baseball stadium and feeling so bad right now that I don't want to go. Like normal - I want to run to urgent care. I go to cardiologist Monday to basically beg for reasurrance of some sort. I can't understand why I have them EVERY morning. Mine started today after a shower and blow-drying my hair. Now Bren about 2 hours. Maybe anxiety causing them tonlast? Anxiety about tonight? Not sure. I do worry I'm going to have then tonight which is probably causing me them now. Anyway - I completely understand how you feel. It's so frustrating and sad to feel this way.

Be Reassured
Susie,
I believe you have had PVC's for quite a while, right ?.. I'm sure you know there are basically two types, ectopic and vagally mediated. yours are VERY obviously vagally mediated from reading the history of your posts and EKG, echo studies. Our vagas nerve(s) or PSNS is our rest and digest governer (the parasympathetic nervous system) which governs, like a governer on a engine it slows doen our sympathetic nervous system (SNS) (fight or flight) which if left ungverned would cause our hearts to beat 120, 150 beats per minute or more. Little babies and babies in vitro are stll developing their PSNS, that is why their hearts beat so fast. Throught the day, and even while we sleep there is this constant orchestration between the SNS and PSNS to give us the heart rate we need at that moment. Anxiety highly affects this orchestration as well as things like indigestion and triggers like caffiene, alcohol,MSG, etc, etc, etc. Everyone experiences imbalances from time to time, some more than others. It sounds silly, but meditation, exercise and any other method of relaxation serves to prevent this imbalance. You might want to ask your DR. about GERD, since you appear to be prone to periods of anxiety. In the mean time, listen to all the reassuring posts you have recv'd, and relax. Like Jeff, I at one time had several thousand BIG PVC's a day, and quite frankly when I quit worrying about them, they went away. You are fine, your PVC's are benign, you do not have any form of heart desease, just an anxiety mediated vagas nerve imbalance, that WILL correct itself and will come back from time to time. Think of it as your special heart rhythm and please do not worry.. tom |

I do have a hiatal hernia and I know this can contribute as well. I had one a few minutes ago, this one felt like a big thump on my throat and a tiny flutter in my chest, as usual, it scared me.Darn it. Now I feel all nervous again. gee. Thanks for your kind and informative post, I really appreciate it. Susie |

With the hiatal hernia Susie you should seriously stay off those foods you are allergic too. The extra gas you are producing when eating those foods will cause more pressure on ur chest once ur stomach is bloated and bamm more palpitations. You may think the foods aren't bothering you but they could be aggravating you with gas, constipation, indigestion and reflux. I would try to stay off them for two weeks and see what happens.

THIS IS NOT scientific. This is opinion, Tom. I agree that her PVCs are probably stress and anxiety related, but the vagus nerve? There are no conclusive studies that allow one to say with any certainty that the vagus nerve stimulation is definitively the cause of anybody's PVCs. Is it a POSSIBILITY? Yes. Is it good science to say that her PVCs are caused by that? No, as there isn't any evidence to support it--just conjecture. |
