JJust got back from the cardioligist

So I just got back from the cardioligist...he said that my heart looks beautiful!

Any who here are the specs on the ol ticker!

2D echo

Lv Diastolic Diameter Base Lx 5.7cm (3.6-5.2)
Lv Systolic Base Lx 3.6cm (2.3-4.9)
RV Diameter 2.3 cm
Fractional Shortening BASE 0.36 (0.18-0.42)
Estimated LV ejection fraction 60 %
IVS Dialostic Thickness 1.1cm(0.6-1.1)
IVS Diastolic Thickness 1.1 cm (0.6-1.1)
LVPW Diastolic Thickness (0.6-1.1)

DOPPLER
Av Peak Velocity 149 cm/s
Av peak Gradient 8.9 mmHg
Heart rate 60 bpm
mitral E point Velocity 107 cm/s
mitral A point velocity 68cm/s
mitral E to A ratio 1.6
MV pressure Half Time 46 ms
MV Pressure Half time 46 ms
MV Area PHT 4.8 cm
PV Peak Velocity 111 cm/s
PV Peak GradIent 4.9 mmHg
M_MODE
LA systolic Diameter MM 3.9 (1.9-3.7)
Aortic Root Diameter MM 3.6 (2.0-3.7)

It said in the findings that I had some mild mitral regugitation...but that the mitral valve was normaly structred.

Anyhow you guys are more apt to make sense out of this than I can.

But I know two things for sure, one is the treadmill they use for the stress test will reduce your legs to jelly in about 2 seconds flat...and the other is what a relief it is to know that the ol ticker is ok.

And with that I hope yall have a good day!

Chas

Did you see Rocky IV? The one where Ivan Drago is running on a treadmill at about 45 degrees? That's what I think of when I think of the stress test. Minus the steroid injection.

So it looks like the structure of your heart is right where it's supposed to be. That's really the primary test - if you are asymptomatic (other than feeling the beats), for example no unexplained loss of consciousness, and the structure of your heart is normal (meaning no thickening of ventricle walls, good ejection fraction, no dead tissue from a previous heart attack), then your heart is just fine. Take one big breath in, and exhale....

Yes I did see that part in rocky, I couldnt have withstood that thats for sure!

These things never make me dizzy or anything,I guess they are more bothersome than anything else.

But I can tell you one thing-It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when he told me that every thing was okay. In fact he suggegested that going to the gym and excersising might help!

But i appreciate everyone here taking the time to hear my concerns and offering advice...this past month has been scary to say the least!

Oh yeah...I guess this is a sign that I need to quit letting things get to me so easy-I think that was the main trigger for all of this.

As you go out and exercise, remember that at first your PVCs may get a little worse. That's normal. Keep at it for at least a couple weeks, and you should start seeing those PVCs fade.

Learning how not to get worked up is hard. If you figure it out, let me know.

Great news Chas. I'm sure you will start feeling better after your doctor's reassurance. It always works for me.

I couldnt agree with you more mam! Like I told jeff It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders!

So I guess my nest challenge is learning to cope with stress better so I can try to keep the PVCs at bay...But we will see how that goes!
