Thats the most frustrating thing about these skips...there is never a rhyme or reason...you can be having the best day of your life and then get bombarded by them or you can be having a terrible day and not get one symptom....I'm sure yours are still benign even with exercise...I've suffered with these skips for most of my life and it seems like every few years I get new ones or symptoms that I never had before and doctor still says they're fine....it's just frustrating....

Thanks guys. I think I will call just to be sure. But I really dont want to become a reassurance junkie.
I am just so depressed. I want my life back. I just want this problem to be gone. I really hope I can get in touch with my nutritionist tomorrow too so I can see about the potassium and magnessium possibilities. Thanks very much!! |

Skips are skips and nothing more. A few, a lot--no difference. Of course the more one has, the more annoying they are. However, without structural heart abnormalities (so obviously detected on an echo that even the techs know, but can't say, obviously), it is meaningless. Long batches of PVCs, short bouts, the big THUMP, the flutter--all means and amounts to NOTHING clinically. All of us (myself included--why else would I have come here) worry, but we're basically using our energies in the wrong place. What we need to do is threefold: 1. Learn to train our minds not to react to the skips. 2. Eat a healthy diet, get as much rest as possible, and relax. 3. Exercise as much as one can possibly do.
This is the magic formula for living with them for all of us, and it isn't easy but very necessary. |

Like the others have said - it doesn't matter that they happen then. They happen then for me sometimes, too.
You are a massive ball of stress now, yes? Freaking out in a fashion you haven't before? Well? Remember when I wrote that when you exercise, things will get worse before they get better? I wasn't blowing smoke up your ass. ![]() Keep at it. They WILL get better.

Hey!! Smoke up my ass!! I haven't tried THAT one yet...perhaps that may help
![]() I know I sound freakish with my constant worry. Honestly, I have gone many years in acceptance mode with these friggin things. It took a sudden change (increase) and 'hello relapse'!!! Google is also not helping. Found some scary crap on PubMed. Ugh. I promise...I will get a grip soon... |

I'm sorry you're feeling depressed. I know how you feel as I have been dealing with those feelings too. I get the skips after any exertion - lifting groceries, walking while carrying bags, soccer chairs etc, anything. It's scary and i haven't don't any physical exercise in over a year. During my stress test I had about 4 PVCs during actual treadmill part and then TONS afterward sometimes every few beats in cool down phase. They were monitoring it and still said everything was fine. It still scares me and I am afraid to exericse as well I hate the skips so much I don't want to actually bring them on if I don't have to. Hang in there

Well, the Dr. called me back himself!! Weird. But totally cool. I asked him about the new symptom of PVCs during exercise. He asked if I really get myself into a sweat and I said no. He said try that and see if it doesnt go away. He also said he still wasn't really worried, but to keep him informed.
I cant say I feel entirely better about this...especiallly after all that stupid googling this weekend. I found articles about how dangerous it is to have PVCs during exercise. Sudden death and all this crap. Ugh. But I will do my best to listen to him and I am very thrilled to have found a Doc who cares enough to even make his own phone calls! |
