just wanted to share...
I am at the ER with my dad and I noticed on his heart monitor he is having PVCs... I asked the nurse about it and she brushed it off, said Everyone has them and unless they are more then 10 a minute, they disregard them.... They are of no significance.
Sorry I am mibile so plz excuse the spelling. Oh and the nurse was also a paramedic for years. Said she saw them all the time.... Kinda cool to hear

Wow, how about PACs? More than 10 a minute is the magic number!?? Well that makes me and I'm sure ALOT of people feel better. I wonder if he has as many daily as you but just doesn't feel them.
How is your dad? I know he has been sick. I'll send a prayer out for you and him. Take care. |

My niece (the young blonde girl in my avatar) was born with two very rare heart defects and a total of three holes in her heart. She has no valves between certain chambers and nearly died as an infant. She's been through two open heart surgeries and an aortic valve replacement last October. This summer she had to have a second round of surgeries on her back for scoliosis.
I remember being in her room as she was waking up and staring at her heart monitor for fear that something bad would happen. Her heart was throwing PVC's constantly and the nurses never once came in to check even though the PVC alarm kept going off. They'd just turn if off from their end and let her sleep off the anesthesia. This is pretty amazing actually. When they did her last surgery they did a preemptive ablation on her RVOT, just in case. Seeing them unworried over countless PVC's in her very damaged, scarred heart was reassuring! |

Hope all is well with your dad.
That is interesting info, I wonder if that has to do with runs of PAC's as well. I had some tonight and they really shook me up, probably close to 20 fast beats before my heart paused, and went back to normal. Keep us posted on your dad. God bless and hugs Susie |

Thank you all very much for your well wishes and prayers
We came to the ER as he has been sick for days. So they kept him and will keep pumping him with fluids and antibiotics. And yes I am sure its the same for PACs, I have heard they are of even less concern then PVCs. The nurse said she sees them a lot, just most dont even know they are having them. My father only feels them once in a while even though he was having 2 a minute or so. And Bypeep, so happy to hear though your neice is doing better and the surgery was a sucess!!!!! Hugz... Dani |
