Meds/Supplements/Vitamins

Of course I know I need to ask the Doc...but curious what you think.

I have been taking many supplements and vitamins for many years now at the advisement of a nutritionist/pharmacist in town. I feel some of these have really helped. But not really sure what does what at this point.

Drs around here really don't believe in vitamins and the more natural routes. My insurance doesn't cover the docs that deal with it. So it is very difficult to get trustworthy info/advice.

Question is...could any of these be aggravating my PACs? Thoughts?

Metoprolol
Wellbutrin XL
Klonopin
Zyrtec
Alpha Lipoic Acid
L-Carnitine
Multi Vitamin
Aspirin
Vitamin C
B-12 Lozenge
B 100 Complex
Vitamin D3
Apple Cider Vinegar
Chronium
Gymnema
Co Q10
Fish Oil
Glucomannan
Ibuprophin

Wellbutrin is notorious for causing agitation in many. THis would be the most likely cause, if it is medication interaction or reaction. It is one of the worst antidepressants for severe side effects--far more than the SSRI class. I am not saying that it is doing that, but I know a family member that had an extremely strong reaction to Wellbutrin.

That was a HUGE worry of mine when I started it. But that was 2 years ago and my PACs didnt start to get bad until about 7-8 months ago. I was hoping to wait until after winter. But maybe I will stop it and see if I notice a difference. I honestly dont think it is doing anything anyway...it pooped out pretty fast.

DO NOT stop it unless a doctor tells you to do so. Once again, you have to titrate off of it gradually. Consult your doctor about possible alternatives if that is the cause, BUT DO NOT stop taking antidepressants without a physician's advice. Withdrawal can occur, and that can be dangerous. Your doctor may decide to take you off of that gradually and put you on an SSRI instead, but that is a doctor's decision.

I have already discussed it with him. He said that WB doesn't really have WD issues and to stop when needed since I am such a low dose. But yes...most ADs (unfotunately I have too much exp. with these) def DO need a very slow titration. I had a horrid time with Cymbalta withdraw. Thank you!

I think you might be more comfortable with one of the newer generation SSRIs that calm and level out moods. I hear great things about Lexapro, and it doesn't cause the agitation that others cause, and starts working much faster. Ask the doctor, as a lot of people feel very much more relaxed with it.

Oh no!! LOL. I am so done with the AD experiments. This was the absolute last try. I have been on and off them (under Drs care, of course) for decades. I honestly am good with the anti anxiety and my PDoc said I should just stay on these forever. Fine with me. No ADs ever helped for more than 6 months and never without intolerable side effects. Honestly, right now, the WB is nothing more than a placebo...if that. Even my therapist agrees that this road has pretty much come to an end for me. I seem to do better without them oddly enough.

Zyrtec I have heard can cause them.

I take fish oil, magnesium and a multi vitamin.
