This is the 3rd time I have heard this in the past week about zyrtec. I am shocked. I will def stop taking it (I only take as needed anyway). I wonder what kind of allergy med wouldn't cause trouble. My daughter sometimes takes it too. I will need to find a substitute.

My cardio told me to take Claritin. Not Claritin D! Just Claritin. He said to stay away from decongestants as they will trip the heart especially if you are already prone to them. I took Claritin and never felt any.

Oh definitely. There is even a warning about restlessness, and accelerated heartbeat on any DM product. THe decongestants are a no no for any one with ectopics and high blood pressure/

Oh I will not EVER take a decongestant...which has made it very difficult to deal with my sinus issues and allergies. But the zyrtec did provide some relief. I called a pharmacist who said all antihistimines have the possibility to cause heart upset. That it is trial and error. My daughter takes it as needed too so this really upsets me. Its like I am just doomed to feel like shit one way or another. She also said benadryl...while usually most sedating...is also the AH with the greatest risk of palps. Just FYI. This is all news to me!!!

Nasacort or any other cortisone nasal spray works well, and there does't seem to be an issue with heart rhythm. Just saying.

I don't know about the drugs, but, I can truly say that is probably none of the vitamins, they all tend to be pretty safe.

A a thyroid patient - I could never take a decongestant sinc I had an elevated HR while hyperthyroid. My resting HR would be 110-120. Now I still live the same way, no decongestants ever and no epi with dental stuff
