Hi Lisa -
I'm back. Yeah, I think I was getting a little burned out. Economy's bad so we're scrambling to secure work, stress level high, had to focus attention on those things that would let us keep paying the mortgage. But we're good now. Each of those lines (I, II, III) is what they call a different lead. The wording is a little confusing, because I equate a lead with one wire, or one pair of wires, and that's not necessarily what they mean in this case. Some leads have two wires. Some have three. Some only have one. It's weird. But in general, you can think of the different leads a lot like a sonogram or echo, where each lead is giving doctors a different "view angle" of what's going on in your heart. The way the voltage changes across each of the different leads can tell doctors some amazingly detailed and accurate information about your heart. The more I learned the more I was really amazed by it. We're so accustomed to that graphic that's in the logo for this site, but that's just one of many views a doctor may want. If you have other questions, fire away. I'll do my best to answer. |
