New Motivational Group - "Skippers Getting Skinny"
With Julie and Casper having such a positive response to the before and after photo idea for those of us with skips trying to lose weight, it seemed like a fun idea to create a social group on the site so we can help keep each other motivated, give support and give great feedback when someone posts their progress.
The group is called Skippers Getting Skinny (and if you can come up with cooler name, I'm all ears). Having the courage to hit the road, the weights or the treadmill when it feels like your heart doesn't want to cooperate takes a special something, and it's not always easy to summon that special something every day. So use the friends in this group to lean on when you need a little extra help. Because pictures add all kinds of accountability, before photos are required. After photos are, too, but those are the easy ones to post. Stop over! Have a look! Join us! |

That's great! If you have any troubles, just email the pics to jeff @ skippinghearts.com.
And you know, since I've been getting so close to my goal (and then changing my goal because it wasn't skinny enough), I've been losing my motivation. This will give me a boost, too. ![]() Looking forward to it. -Jeff |

I think you have that picture on your facebook account, anyway. Not like you sent me something your other 700 Facebook friends haven't also seen.
I can upload the picture, but it'll show up as being one of mine - I can add in the description that it's you (though I'm pretty sure it'll be obvious ), so if that's okj with you, it's OK with me.Also, I noticed the layout for discussions within that group are messed up. I'll fix that shortly. And I want to make a link to make that group easier to get to and find - right now it takes about 5 clicks to get there. Too many. |

Hey, should we set up some kind of organized contest? Everyone's going to have different goals, so maybe it's a matter of just having a final vote by all involved at the end of the challenge, and the winner wins something.
I might be willing to kick in an iPod or something, for motivation. I'd offer a Polar heart monitor, but those things are a blessing and curse, and I find I'm happier now that I don't ever use mine. I just bust my ass working out and I let my heart take care of it's own job. Thoughts? |
