One man's conclusion
So I haven't really been willing to share this because I've been worried about everyones response but I guess it's safe- please just take it as one man's theory and perspective. I've added it from latest email to first because it was easiest for me so you need to start at the bottom and work ur way up. I have been taking the supplements he has suggested and it has really helped me tremendously. He believes inflammation is the main cause for begnin palpitations and lowering it will lower the frequency of palpitations. I have tried to lower my inflammation as much as possible over the months and really feel like it's working. I've had every doctor I've seen lately tell me inflammation is an issue for me even today. My obgyn said the pains I'm getting with my cycle and period are caused by my high inflammation levels and tilted uterus ( long story and WAY too many personal details) my allergist suggested that my palpitations are caused by my food allergies causes inflammation all up and down my digestive tract, my MD suggested high inflammation because my vitamin D was too low, my GI said the celiac was/is causing horrible inflammation. So I've been eating foods that help with inflammation like Ginger, butternut squash etc and trying to eat more alkaline foods. ALOT of people don't believe in the whole acid/alkaline food idea but I do- so please no judgement. I've experienced first hand how my reflux has disappeared by trying to alkalize my meals. Lemon water which leaves an alkaline residue has gotten rid of my reflux. Anyways maybe it's all the hope that I have that this is working and a placebo effect or maybe it's just working but my palpitations have gone from tons to hormonally or as my obgyn stated at times of extreme inflammation. I have never given up and always tried to remain positive and steadfast too. I've accepted it and tried to tryst in my journey. I'm religious so who knows maybe it's the acceptance or the feeling that either way I'll be taken care of? I guess i really don't need to explain myself... And should just post what I have. I hope it helps at least one of you. With love, Kate:
Ok Great! *They are a good company. Take one ounce twice a day for a week.* by then your palps will likely be gone, but still take one ounce every few days to keep them gone! Katie Sent from my iPhone On Sep 22, 2011, at 4:16 PM, Nick Hi Katie, I sure know what you are going through. *I'll tell you all that I did to get rid of them. I'll try to keep it short...but it is a lengthy story... I got them in 2002. *One week I went to the hospital emergency three times! *One of the times I had atrial fibrillation. *My heart was going 220 beats per minute for two hours. *They put me on a drug called propaphenone (Rhythmol). *It worked a bit but I didn't like the side effects. *The situation was scaring the daylights out of me. *I thought I'd end up having to quit my job. Afraid to go out even. I am a researcher so I put my skills to work on this one. *Plus, I studied all of the pre-medical sciences in university, so I was quite familiar with the processes. After the doctor did all of the necessary tests and ruled out any serious physical health issue, I went to work on finding the root cause of the problem. *Doctors did not seem interested in doing this. * I scoured the globe - talking to doctors and researchers everywhere about the issue. *I created a database of people who had palps and wrote down everything they would tell me about the issue. *Eventually (after three years) I got a break. *I discovered the link to INFLAMMATION! *Internal inflammation is the root cause for most of us. *It's a very long story how I figured out how to beat inflammation, so unless you what the details, I'll skip to what I did. Your Environment Cut out all fish oil (I was using Costco brand omega fish oils). *Fish oil has too much mercury. Eliminate all sources of mercury in my diet. *Mercury really triggers inflammation. Floss teeth every day. *The bacteria in teeth trigger palpitations specifically. Remove all mercury fillings from teeth. *They are devastating.. No matter what your dentist says. *Dentists are in denial about this fact. Your Diet - The Basis of Increasing Your Alkalinity Get hold of some KALE from a good produce store. *Eat several leaves every single day! *I put a handful in my smoothie in the morning and I eat several leaves after dinner at night. Get hold of some "Lily of the Desert" brand Aloe Gel. *This is for internal use. *You keep it in the refrigerator and you drink one ounce three times a day for the first week. *After that one ounce a day for a week, then one ounce one or two times a week as needed. *This will really knock out the palps. NOTE: *Just because your palps are suddenly gone.. don't be fooled into thinking that you can go back to your old ways. *You can't. *Palps will come back in a flash!* Stop drinking all bottled water since it is pH 5.5 or close. *That is acid. * Stop drinking all pop/soda since it is pH 2.5 or close. *That is extremely bad. Coffee is fine. *So is tea. Eat more dark greens. To replace any fish oils you might have been taking, use Sequel brand EFA oil. *It is outstanding! *If you go to this site that I did for a lady who suffers from fibromyalgia, you will see the bulk of the supplements that I use. *http://alternativemedicinetoday.org/fibromyalgia/* It is password protected buy I'll give you the password. It is "burlap". *There is a PH chart there for foods. *For palps, I'd focus on Aloe Gel, spirulina, chlorella, sequel EFA oil, Trace minerals, astaxanthin and Vitamin D3. Trace minerals are important since they regulate the endocrine system to a large extent. *If you are a tea drinker, Rooibos tea is great stuff. *Very calming and rich in tannins. *Sugar and refined carbohydrates shoudl be minimized. *Surgar feeds inflammation and yeast growth. * My experience is that everyone will follow this until they get better, then 99% of them will be back to suffering four months later. *They just can't stop themselves from a slow suicide.* I hope you are not one of these folks! Best to you Katie. Nick. On 2011-09-22, at 9:29 AM, Katie wrote: Hi Nick, I've been researching about palpitations and was wondering about your regime? well, much of what he says my nutritionist agrees with. And I think we are all learning that inflamation IS indeed at the root of many if not most illnesses today.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Oh!! And since I had to stop spinach, I replaced it with kale Some of the other stuff I am going to go over with her tho and see what she thinks.

I am obsessed with kale! Yummy. How do u cook yours, I'd love a new recipe. I just sautee mine in olive oil and sprinkle with salt and ground flaxseed and lemon juice. Mmmmmm! I think I may be using too much salt lately though because my blood pressure is usually pretty low and today my nurse said it was 120/ something and I thought hmm that's odd it's normal

Cheers : I've never really eaten it raw since it's quite chewy. I'm going to try it raw though. I have a crappy blender so if I added it to my smoothies I'd have to chop away first. I'm allergic to blueberries and pineapple but do u have any other good smoothie recipes u could recommend with greens included?

I am boring and usually just stick with the same thing:
Stawberries/Blueberries Sometimes half of banana Kale (used to do baby spinach) whey protein chia seeds ground flax pinch of cayenne dash of vanilla stevia ice lil bit of water but there are SO many different recipes on the internet. You do need a fairly decent blender for veggies tho. You can get different flavors by using extracts (orange, coconut, lemon, etc) |

@Katie - aren't you lucky with the kale, since that seems to be an East Coast staple in the landscape.
As for the things you're trying with the help of this other person - I don't think anyone can (or should) have anything to say about it - if you're willing to try it yourself, put it in your own body, and have done your own due diligence in terms of efficacy and safety research, then why not talk about it? I have to be honest, I have a predisposition against aloe, because I had a coworker a long time ago try to sell me a case of it, and she was convinced it could cure cancer. She wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree, and so I associated that whole experience with aloe. Doesn't mean it doesn't work - just means I had an experience that made me more skeptical than the average person. Healthy teeth and gums? Dentists will tell you that not keeping your mouth clean can result in all sorts of maladies, some of them really serious. The silver fillings thing - could be. The dental industry is too far down that road to really turn back without causing a panic, and so could that be a motivation to stay quiet? Maybe. Is it also possible that they really aren't harmful? Yep. Or in a double-cross by the dental industry, could they secretly be promoting the removal of all old, metallic fillings to generate more revenues? Could be. The link you posted takes me to a site that seems chock full of conspiracy theories, and I get a little worried for the people reading some of that, for fear that they take it all as gospel. Did you ever see the movie Boiler Room? I was thinking about that movie when I read some of the stuff on that site. But the person you were in contact with didn't appear to be hocking his own brand of goods, which is a show of genuity (which isn't a word but sounds better than genuineness, doesn't it?) in my book. Again, my big things are is it spam, is the person trying to make a buck, and is the person sharing the info putting their money where their mouths are. What you posted passes all those criteria for me, so I don't have a thing to say, other than I hope it works for you, and if it does, that you experiment with it a bit more (safely, please ), to see if you can recreate symptoms and then make them vanish again, that kind of thing. And then send me the links to the products so I can sell them and make a buck. ![]() I'm kidding. Mostly. |
