Probable Diagnosis...Inappropriate Sinus Tach

Well it seems like their educated guess is IST or Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardua, combined with PAC's and Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure. My event monitor showed sinus tach runs of 170 bpm with only mild exercise which took a long time to slow back down...also showed frequent PAC's....The sinus tach runs seemed to have not real pattern other than with mild exercise, body position or movement. It doesn't seem like it takes much to set them off. I don't feel anxious nor panicky when I have them...they are just a pain in the butt.....LOL
Started on Lopressor 25mg BID. So far no real adverse reactions to the drug. It has lowered my resting pulse, BP is going down, I feel no skips so far, and no runs of tach...So far so good... My ECG is still abnormal, but they are not too concerned about that. I will keep you updated...

It sounds like you're really getting this under control! That is SO inspiring! I have your everyday garden-variety PVC's, but I have A LOT of them and was given a low dose Lopressor script (12.5 mg as needed). The problem for me was that my resting heart rate is already in the 50's, so the Lopressor worked it even lower, causing me to feel pretty light-headed at times. I'm still on the hunt for the "silver bullet", but am getting along pretty well through stress management, exercise, and dietary modification.

I'm SO happy you're getting your problem sorted, I can't imagine how relieved you must feel!

Thanks jphiily...
So far my skipping heart is starting to quiet down a bit. Usually IST patients have a high resting pulse anyway, which I did and the Lopressor has brought that down. The only thing the Lopressor has not done so far is reduce my Blood Pressure adequately. I might be looking at another medication in addition to the Lopressor. But right now I am also in physical therapy for a frozen shoulder and possible rotator cuff injury which is bumming me out.... Sometimes if it does not rain it pours!

Yep, that is what I have too. IST is really annoying and I think it was at its worst when I was pregnant.
I take atenolol for it and it works like magic for me. I only take a 1/4 of a 25mg pill, so sometimes I feel the IST breakthrough and I just take another 1/4 and it settles down within 15 minutes.
I'm glad you don't have anything serious and I'm sure you must feel better mentally after all of this. That always helps calm the PVC's down. Piece of mind
Jodie
