PVC'S knocking the wind out of me
I thought of another symptom of mine, and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this: I seem to get a couple different sensations with these PVC's and PAC's. I can either feel a slight flutter, almost like my heart is flipping over, those are noticeable, but don't scare me that bad. The other feeling is a hard thump like feeling, that makes me feel like I need to catch my breath. Kinda like the wind was knocked out of me. These TERRIFY me. That whole sensation lasts about 30 seconds or so.What is the difference in the 2 different feelings? Is it the same thing causing it? Has anyone ever felt this? Thanks....

I know when I get an episode of NSVT...it makes me feel a little like that and also feel light headed, dizzy and hot all over. This usually last for just a few seconds. Mine was caught on an event monitor, have you had one of those?

NSVT is a run of 3 or more PVCs in a row without normal beat between them. Mine are usually a 4 or 5 beat run. PVCs can make you feel different ways depending on what part of the beat it comes (Jeff can answer this better then me). But yes I have had them where it feels like it takes your breath for a second.

Hi and welcome,
I have these for a few years now. I can go for a few weeks feeling very little and then WHAM, here they come and I always think they are worse than before. I have gone to bed many times wondering if I would wake up in the morning. I think we have all been where you are (unfortunately), but this is a wonderful sight to make you feel better. |

Hi! I 100% know what your talking about. I actually wrote a post on 'differences in PVC strength'..you should ck it out. now, I too have these small flutters...which are very mild (just a plain 'ol PVC or PAC). but THEN..I get these CRAZY feeling ones here and there...They take my breath away and feel like a mini 'explosion' in my chest..its quite frightening. I cough immediatly after and kinda clench my chest. its terrible...BUT these could possibly be esophagel spasms (read that post). I guess I can't be 100% sure unless im hooked up to monitors when one happens. What I do know is I have had milder versions of those ( though they aren't really mild at all) which I had on a treadmill stress test that they pegged as a PVC. I was so paranoid b.c they felt so diff. I didnt know if it was REALLY a PVC, but they seem to appear to be, at least the ones I had on the treadmill that were similar to those HUGE ones....
now I wonder if anyone can relate to this...jeff, maybe this is why those huge ones coudl be spasms....you see, those big ones...I don't really feel the 'thud' thats characteristic of a PVC...its more just like an explosion lol that freaks the crap outta me. Gillepiefive...try and describe those bigger ones a bit more...do they sound anything like what I just described? |

I would say this sounds like a PVC no doubt. I wonder what my wierd crazy ones are b.c there is no thud..lol im to the point where i'm just over these!! I've had these for 11 months now. I had them starting FEB 09 and went thru all the tests only to show simple PVCs and PACs. and what your describing is what I think we all on here feel on a daily basis.
I have decided just today that after seeing how some of the members get annual echo's etc, I think I would like to. Just for my own peace of mind. Its worth the money i'd spend to get it done after my ins pays CRAP lol. how long have you been noticing these? |
