Beta blockers do nothing for ectopics apart from maybe make them less strong sometimes, but I still feel them, usually just as strongly as before! In some people they can even make ectopics more frequent. I don't think they would consider giving you medication anyway unless you were having thousands and thousands a day!

Yea that is what my doc said... 15,000 to 25,000 a day is when they worry about it wearing your heart out. I have heard that about beta blockers too. How long have you had PVCs?

I'm not really sure how long I've had them - I definitely remember having them at the end of 2008, but I might have had them before. They got gradually worse through 2010 and over the past 9 months or so they've got worse and worse. It's exhausting!

Yes finding a doctor who has PVCs themselves I am sure would be wonderful! It would make me feel like they actually get my fear. And I have always heard of people getting increased PVCs, I never hear of decreased lol which is worrisome... it seems once you have them, you are destined to get more as time goes.

For PPOs that is usually true but for HMOs the doctors often get a bonus for not doing procedures. They have a budget and the more under budget they are the bigger the bonus. |
