Question for Jodie

Hi Jodie,

I know that you take atenol for IST. I take Toprol. Did your doctor ever recommend you take it for your PVC's. If so, does it decrease them at all? My general practitioner just told me to increase it and it should help. I only take 12.5 mg, I get tired on more than that. I was just wondering if it worked for you.
Thanks, D

Yes, it works for my PVC's too. I still get them but they seem to be supressed from the atenolol.
There are a few times a year where they really kick in and I just increase the does to 1/2 the pill and it helps to settle them in a few days. I personally love atenolol. You said you take Toprol. Is that wha you meant when you said your doctor said to increase it? Is it the Toprol that makes you tired?
Jodie

Yes, it is the Toprol that he wants me to increase. I take 1/2 a pill at night so that I'm not too tired all day. But that increase to a whole pill does make me tired. I'll take being tired over PVC's any day! I remember reading somewhere that the slower your heartbeat, the more PVC's you feel. That's why I wasn't sure if it worked. Thanks, D
