Depends on the antidepressant. I don't take them,as I tend not to get depressed. My actions are generally somewhat agitated, so Xanax does the trick for me as needed. However my friends tell me that Lexapro comes on in the bloodstream much faster than a lot of SSRIs.

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way! Trust me when I say I know exactly how you are feeling. My life has come to a stand still! I go back to bed almost every day until 9 am and then get up and sit on the couch. All because it seems the less I do - the less PVCs I have. This has ruined me. I used to be super active, exercising, working, and having a fairly good life. Now I cry daily and have PVCs daily. I used to fet maybe one or 2 a month then this last summer I started getting them every few beats for hours. So I could have 10-20 a minute at times. Sometimes this pattern lasts hours. I have had weeks where it subsides and weeks it's horrible (I'm in one of those now) my cardiologist just keeps saying I'm fine but it's so scary and I seriously pray hourly for compete healing from this or acceptance or anything.
I don't take any meds, I have Xanax as needed but rarely use it. The side effects aren't worth it to me most of the time but I do wrestle with possibly trying beta blockers. My aunt takes it for PVCs and has none now. I know though that is only for some ppl. Hang in there though and hopefully your dr will reassure you.

Honestly. .. . You said you rarely take Xanax and only take them when you feel like it. . . Advice which im sure the doc would agree on (still talk with him before anything) is to either take them daily or not at all. Going on and off might actually be one of the things making it worse for you.- And sounds like you need some sort of medication. I get Satralin for my anxiety, and yeah the first month was a battle. Now im at the full dose 200mg and can clearly feel a change. Not that im "cured"... But things feel better. so try talking with your doctor about that. |

I am the same way Christina. But I was in such a bad place with my Panic 13 years ago that I was willing to go through any sides effects the Zoloft had to offer. Same with when I started going through my heart testing. The Xanax and the increase in the Zoloft saved me. I didn't care about side effects.
BUT I am so funny about other side effects. For example.... I have mild asthma. I mean mild. It will act up once every few years. Recently it started acting up and I was scared to use my inhaler lol. I have migraines and can take Imatrex but only take a 1/4 pill cuz I am scared of the side effects. My doc has prescribed me anti-acid meds and I am scared to take them. Same with a beta blocker (Bystolic) only because the cardio said I don't really need it. So... I have all these sample pills at home lol. But some things are worth the risk. |

DaniRae don't take antacid pills- they never worked for me. But this did do try it : water first thing in AM with either halved squeezed lemon or lime. Drink up and have nothing else until 30 minutes later. Drink it throughout the day as well if possible. I swear within 1-2 weeks no acid reflux! Amazing. I'd also get allergy tested for foods because that's what may be causing the acid and it can damage ur esphogas. I know lemon or lime doesn't seem like it'll work but it really worked for me amazingly. And I've had acid reflux for years prior. And I was taking the lime/lemon water to alkalize my body in the AM because although lemon is acidic it leaves an alkaline residue ... anyways and while doing that I noticed as a side effect my reflux was almost non-existent. Let me know if it works for you too please.

But know how you feel about the side-effects- Scared me allot too, and actually kept me from trying meds for 3 years. (wish it had not as im sure it would be better now- Meaning not as high an anxiety level as its become by now)- But could try talking with your doctor about Satralin. Seams to be one of the less prone to give people side effects from what ive seen and heard. Mostly which is kinda standard to most meds is you can get tired and get a dry mouth. But that will pass. But think about it. |
