Sorry for the content of this post, but I figure I can ask you guys. I apologize in advance if it's TMI. Last night I noticed in that time period leading up to an orgasm that my heart was skipping a lot! It scared me but I didn't want to stop and ruin things. Also it was happening during intercourse. What the heck? You hear about people having heart attacks during sex, could this be me?

Hey!! I've had this RIGHT during the big 'o' and it was those CRAZY SCARY BIG ONES lol....all the docs say bc my heart is 'structural sound' I have nothing to worry about (yeah yeah...keep hearing that)..so I just go with it....sometimes it will skip bad, sometimes not...who knows. its very distracting thats for sure lol...but at least if I drop over dead, I'll drop over dead in ecstasy!!!! hahaahha

OMG Lisa, I can't believe that happened to you!!!! Good to know ( in a twisted sense) that others have dealt with this too. I wonder if the hormones that fire up during sex can trigger them? IDK...maybe it is just coinscidence....

I have had that happen to me too. It is probably the only time I ignore them and I don't think about them to much because I'd rather think about getting to that "O".

Ladies, if you're trying to figure out ways to keep me here to try to answer questions? This is the kind of thing to do it.

As for the reason why this happens, I have to imagine it's the excitement and anticipation, not unlike an adrenaline rush, that helps this to cause extra skips and arrhythmias.

A little over a year ago around Christmas, before my most recent round of tests (which came a couple months after this episode), I had a similar experience. My heart was skipping, flipping and flopping WAY more than I was used to, and what made it a little worse was that there was NO WAY I was stopping to take my pulse, so that may have made it a little worse.

And then in my head the idea pops in - "Is this how guys end up going out with a smile on their faces? Hmm. Maybe. But? Not a bad way to go. Giddyap!"

I agree and I've been there. It seems to happen more lately in my sex life then when I was teenager. And Like jsuter69 I try to ignore it cause of well being in the other moment feels so much better. Only time I don't when the skips/estra beats don't stop ugggggggg.

LOL, well, I have been celebate for so many years, I don't know how I would react now, when I was married, I did not have them. I do fear though that if I were ever intimate again, and I felt one of those dang things, I would probably stop right away, for me, they take ALL my joy away and over ride any fun I am having.
