skipping again

Hi,

Have any of you noticed that when you have a busy day like washing the car, laundry and vacuuming your skips get worse? My heart is having a time this evening now that I am sitting down.

Thanks
Anita

Absolutely. If I have a million things to get done and I'm cranking to get them done, at the end of the day when I'm finally settling in after a hectic day, I'll notice them more. Especially if I'm drinking coffee that day (which I've been doing a lot lately).

The trick is to try to remember that your heart can do what it's doing and it's NOT going to kill you. I still get a little freaked, but it only lasts a few seconds now. Then I push it out of my head and keep moving. And yes, I think the meds help me to do that - I wasn't able to do that before (though now that I think about it, I'm on a really tiny dose, so it shouldn't make THAT much a difference.)

I notice that once I sit and think "oh I didn't feel that many skips today" then all of a sudden here they come. It is almost like I bring them on.

oh yeah..I get a TON when im doing simple house cleaning!!! While they are so damn annoying, the fact that I'm distracted by cleaning helps me move on from each skip that much more quickly...so its kinda nice it a way (lol wierd to say) I find that I need to be distracted when they are bad, so doing ANYTHING can at least get my mind off them...I like to take nice hot showers and just sit down and focus on my breathing. While this doesn't get rid of the PVCs, they lessen them b.c my body is less worked up as I unwind

yeah the anxiety and panic just add to the skips..sorry your feeling these..its so hard but with time you learn to control your anxiety a bit better. I actually decided to see an axiety couselor!! after 2 sessions, I enrolled in this anxiety and panic disorder class for the next 9 weeks (meet once a week)!! I think this will REALLY help my with my catastrophic thoughts everytime my heart skips, and learn to calm down BEFORE it gets to the point where im full out panicked and the skips intensify bc of that. I would HIGHLY suggest seeing a couselor to see if they have a course similar in your area!! whats nice is another lady in the class came bc. of heath issues as well that cuase anxiety etc!! ill have to let you know if the next 9 weeks help me and my skips!

absolutely mine will act up more after a hectic busy day. As soon as I sit down. And just like you guys, somedays if I'm lucky enough not to feel any and I sit down and think "wow, my heart was good today" they of course start up. My mind really has control over these things.

I remember there was a day last month that I was particularly busy. My husband was working late, so I had to feed, bath, and put the kids to bed by myself. I remember feeling pleased that I hadn't had any noticeable palpitations all day, especially since I was stressed and busy. Crazy thing was that once the kids were sleeping, I sat down, relaxed, started to do some fun online Christmas shopping and then BAM!, my heart started to beat fast and hard for about 5 seconds. Such a downer to the day! It's crazy how things can sneak up on you when you think you are relaxed.
