I saw my pcp yesterday for an injured shoulder...grrr...might need surgery for a possible torn rotator cuff...But we also talked about my heart related problems...She is rather convinced that I have a form of
SVT having to do with the firing of a node? or misfiring? I could not understand what she was trying to say. She is leaning towards that because of the pattern of symptoms I have when I go into tachycardia. The four times I have had runs of tachycardia...it started with a wave of initial dizziness and then a run of tachy that lasts for a few hours and then disappears. She is trying to capture the moments before the run of tach, so she can determine what my heart was doing before....She also mentioned the possibility of an electrophysiology study?.... I know that my tachy runs are not panic attacks because I have had those before when I was much younger and my symptoms currently are very different. I have doncumented on my event monitor during a light walk a heart rate of 170...and twenty minutes after the walk I was still running fast (over 100). I was not running and it was just a walk of less than 5 minutes.
My question is this...what are the types of SVT? (Supraventricular Tachycardia) I had read somewhere that sometimes cerain types can be hard to distinguish between
SVT and
sinus tach...it takes an experienced cardiologist to tell the difference.
