Thumping away - trying to remain calm

ok so Im sitting here having a run of PVCs - trying to remain calm - so I thought I would post here. Not working too well though. Not sure why they came on all of the sudden. Usually have this is the morning. Trying to remain calm and not panic - since panic is my normal go to - but they are pretty frequent right now -every 2-3 beats etc. I did start my cycle yesterday and know that plays a huge factor - plus I had a really bad weekend of arguments with my husband. So I was kind of prepared today for them - but had a generally good day until now when I started to clean house. Then WHAM - hello heart. I keep trying to tell myself what my Dr said. He told me I have a twitchy heart - and it is very senesitive right now to any adrenaline/stress etc and gets irritated. LOL

I have read about the whole vagus nerve thing and PVCs. Does anyone have thought on this? I notice whenever I get PVC's - I have to go to the restroom. Im wondering though which comes first - because I kind of think the stress from the PVCs makes me have a nervous stomach. LOL

Ok well I just thought I would post to get my mind off of myself - thanks for allowing me too!!

Hope you all are having a calm day!!

When I have runs of PVC's like that I head straight for bed, it always works for me. I've the same problem with having to use the toilet more I put that down to the Adrenaline rushing through my blood stream. As you know it's a vicious cycle and the key to getting through it is taking your mind off them.

Try not to worry about it. I had that on and off for THREE weeks. It was brought on by stress of moving and selling my house, to go into a condominium. Now that I am settled, it is normalizing. You have had the battery of tests, and everything was normal. SO it has to be stress, food, or some other non-cardiac issue, according to the doctors.

yeah it went away after about 20 minutes. I called my mom to chat and laid on the couch. I am having anxiety about working 2 days this week. I started avoiding work (Im a sub school teacher) and thats not good as I worked hard to build up my name for requests but lately have been avoiding accepting jobs. I have 2 scheduled this week (wed and thurs) so that is worrying me as I always have issues with them while Im there. I wish and wish and wish there was a way to be free of them. I would give up everything I owned for that.....miracles exist though.....

<<ok so Im sitting here having a run of PVCs>> CMoore

<<When I have runs of PVC's like>> David

Just to clarify for the sake of new readers, casual readers, scared readers, are you guys actually having RUNS or are you having clusters?

I'm not trying to be picky about terminology, but people who misunderstand the terms that you are choosing could easily be misled by the word run. I don't want any newcomers thinking that runs are all that common, and/or should last for long lengths of time.

A run is a series of PVC's that occur back to back with no normal beats in between.

A cluster, I guess you might call it, is when you get a bunch of single PVC's all within a short time of each other, but there are normal beats both before and after them, even if only a few.

Someone new to the site might read the word RUN and think, hmmm, well if all those people are having runs and they're lasting all morning, then I'm fine and shouldn't worry, guess I'll cancel that cardiologist's appointment I have this week.

Obviously I'm just making up that scenario, but when it comes to PVC's, runs are very different from clusters.

Susie agrees: I have never had a run of PVC's but have had very short runs of PAC's. I guess there is a difference, huh?

Empathize with this. I just started back to work after 6 months off. I am working 2 days a week for the rest of the year because I have to use up vacation time. Sounded like a good idea but feel stress for the days I have to go to work. Have worked 2 days so far and didn't have any problems but ended up in hospital with chest pains the day after the first day at work. Got to go for a 2nd stress test today and then another day off and work on Thursday. I am sure your work days will be fine. My boyfriend is a sub teacher also and has some health problems so I understand how important it is to take advantage of any work you are offered.

I am afraid the more I turn down work - the less I will get - and of course its probably not healthy for me to do that because I am giving up more and more of myself to this

I have had very short "runs" of PAC's according to the holter monitor, but never PVC's. I know that even one "Skip" makes me nervus. I hate the tummy drop I get with them and the "hot" feeling in my head, it is all adrenalin rush, but I hate that feeling.

I hope you are feeling better today.
Hugs
Susie
