Wow, good lipids Chaotic. Mine are all borderline high, not the greatest and nothing brings them down a lot, but, my homocysteine is good and so is my High sensitivity CRP,those two are great predictors of heart disease.

Your low HDL number doesn't matter if you have low cholesterol. Mine has been in the 30'3 & 40's for years and the highest my total has ever been was 163.Never had CRP checked because my doc said not necessary

CRP test is almost worthless. All it measures is inflammation. If you have any arthritis at all ( most people do), it may well show a false positive.

Hmmmm, very interesting. My one doctor says this is a better indicator than cholesterol as the inflammation can cause little "hang nail" like protrusions from the arteries, and it is those that cause the cholesterol to form and stick to the arteries.

Gosh, hard to know who to believe anymore.

Lime my doc said, not a real good diagnostic tool Only to be used in the ER to help determine what's going on. He refuses to give me one.

Yes it is true--it can definitely indicate that. I have osteoarthritis in several joints. The test would be useless for me, as all it would indicate is a nonspecific inflammation. Some doctors give it and others don't. Just understand that it has minimal accuracy.
