Weaning off beta blocker

What symptoms has anyone experienced while weaning off of propranolol or another beta blocker? Am worried because I have felt more PVC's since I went down on my meds.

It must be done under a doctor's supervision, and gradually, to prevent rebound symptoms.

Have you ever weaned yourself off of a beta blocker?

Nope, I have never taken them, but I know people who have--several friends changing from beta blockers to calcium channel blockers.

I have taken Toprol for the last 5 years. Sometimes as much as 50mg 2x day. For the last 6 months I have taken 12.5 mg. at night only. Now I am cutting the 12.5 in half and taking it every other day. I have not had any reactions yet. A few years ago I was able to go off it for 6 months, but then PVCs and sinus tach came back to haunt me and I went back on.

I was on metoprolol for a year and it seemed like it stopped working. The dose could not be increased because I already have low blood pressure, so I went off of it in October (with my cardio's blessing) and did not have more symptoms at that time.
