Wheeeee!!! fit

So Santa got the kids Wii for Christmas. I know, I know. Santa doesn't want to deluge my kids with technology just yet, so we're a bit behind the times (though my daughter does have a DS).

Anyway - we got the Wii and the Wii fit Plus.

That thing is FUN!

Though I have to say, it calls you on the carpet if you aren't making progress toward your stated fitness goals. ("Please select the reason you gained weight, fatty, and I will tell you why that's bad.")

But the scale seems really accurate, and the games are really fun, though not overly physically challenging (the ones with a trainer are, however).

So if you're looking for something to slowly get you back into exercise, you know, that thing that's good for your heart? Pick up a Wii and Wii fit - you can find them used or refurbished on eBay and Amazon pretty cheaply.

I swear I'm waking up sore in the weirdest places because of this thing, but I can't wait to get up in the morning and hope on the balance board and see where I stand.

Wow you are a worrier, Chaoticdopey.

I tried the Kinect, but it didn't seem as responsive. Plus my kids already had fallen in love with a few Wii games, so I wanted to give them that.

@CMoore - right? When it calculated my BMI my Mii went all Fat Albert and my kids laughed!

LMAO Jeff :p

I have heard great things about the Wii fit. We have the wii, and all the other gaming systems too lol :p They don't get used much but they are nice to have.

@ Dani - I hear nothing but good things about it - I'm finding I love just checking in in the mornings to see how I'm doing - it charts your progress. Kinda cool.

My kids love Wii and we gave a ton of games. No or can beat my 7 year old at tennis and they have a blast playing it. I rent games at redbox to try them out. Yeah there is a strap to prevent tv accidents but I've seen a few ppl get clocked by a flying arm! Lol
