You have been asleep. The entire body is at rest. Heart rate drops to 60-80 or so, and respiration slows. It is time for the body to rejuvenate, and everything in your system slows down, except for the autonomic nervous system, that allows you to breathe, and your organs to function. Suddenly, you go into awake mode--get out of bed, go to the bathroom, and use those organs of elimination. You shower, get dressed, and drink coffee, probably. Nervous system goes on daytime alert. Heart rate goes up to 80-100 or so, and adrenaline is released by the adrenal glands. Suddenly, you go from bed to alert in a few minutes in today's busy society. No wonder why the body responds with a few ectopic beats--it has shocked itself awake, and a new day begins, with all of the responsibilities of the world. Get the picture?
