Scared

I have had migraine auras my entile life and panic attacks. Several days ago I had an aura and a panic attack at the same time. Since that day I have been getting what feels like a skip in my heartbeat. I have felt this before but very seldomly. For a few days they were almost constant. I don't get dizzy or sick but it is scaring me. Seemed like they had been getting better until I got upset yesterday and they came back constant and then went away when I slept. Anyone else have this?

Hi, just read your post and know what you,re going through. These skipped beats are extra beats and are very common. We tend to notice them more when we feel scared or upset. Our bodies produce adrenaline which can aggravate the heart, make it beat faster etc. Mine have been constant for the past 3 years now and they are unpleasant to say the least. All the tests are negative and they are harmless but it doesnt feel like it. Mine are usually worse at night . Try not to worry but get checked out if you havent. That can help put your mind at rest. Ive had a lot of emotional upset the last week or so and mine have been much worse so thats a trigger. Hope you get sorted. My cardiologist said that too. To me though, its more than a nuisance. It interferes with everyday life, sometimes to the point where having a shower fills me with dread (for some crazy reason I get them when washing my hair or trying to exfoliate!). I've been getting them 2-3 years too and it doesn't get easier, though you do get used to them for the most part. I've learned not to panic every time now, only the really bad episodes.
