Holter Monitor Results Back
Posted 09-02-2011 at 12:53 PM by Kandra
Well...got my holter monitor results back. Having 3000 PVC's per day, and one PAC. The most I had in a minute is 36 and the most in an hour was 103. The majority happened in the morning upon waking up....interesting. Had episodes of Ventricular trigeminy. My PCP said he could put me on 80mg of Iuderolla or I can see a Cardiologist. I opted for the Cardiologist. Noone can tell me if this is a bad finding or not, Dr. says "you've had them for a while...all I can say is if they get worse, goto the ER cause they can turn into something." Sounds like a cop out to me. Needless to say, I will be looking for a new PCP--had to goto them due to my insurance change a few years ago. Haven't had much experience with them until the past month--not impressed. Min Heart was 62 Max was 135. No couplets, triplets, or bradycardia runs. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???? Is this normal, or am I developing a bad heart issue. Hopefully the cardiologist will be able to tell me on Wednesday. Hopefully I won't die before then!!! I know my nuclear stress test, echocardiogram, ECG, blood work, Chest X-rays came back normal. Just wish someone could give me some answers..........

Changed over to Paxil--PVC's are hardly even noticeable. If I am getting any, I don't feel them. Did find out that I have trace regurgitation on my mitral valve, tricuspid and pulmonary. I guess trace means no concern. Dr's appt tomorrow morning with Cardio--let's see what he says.. Hope all is going well for everyone today.Posted 09-06-2011 at 09:21 AM by Kandra

Let us know what the cardio says, but 3000/day is not that many according to my cardio. If your heart is structurally normal then I'm sure he will say you are okay. Trace means no concern. Almost everyone has a "trace".
Good luck at the cardiologist. Mine told me that they only treat PVC's if we are feeling them and can't get on with our life. If there are over 10,000/day, then they consider ablation but try meds first. So don't worry too much. I know that isn't easy. When mine start up, they are in clusters like yours. I get most in the afternoon and they just feel horrible. JodiePosted 09-06-2011 at 12:41 PM by jkfrench

Thanks for the information Jodie. That makes me feel better about the "trace" wasn't quite sure what that meant. thank God for websites like this. It's definitely helped me through this!!! Hope you continue to improve.Posted 09-06-2011 at 04:29 PM by Kandra

This website is great. Just knowing people are out there with the same problem makes me feel relief. How long have you guys been dealing with yours? Mine started after my daughter was born, so almost 4 years ago. I go for holter testing soon but they are putting me on for the month, and worried that they may put me on a post- event recorder and not catch anything. Already did a stress with ultrasound and it came back good.Posted 09-07-2011 at 09:26 PM by Katie

I have had mine since I was 26 years old. Recently I went through a tough bout of them, but finally decided to educate myself on them, amongst the 5000 test I had also, to verify that my heart is ok. Just those PVC's are the most annoying thing ever. They should be used for Chinese Torture Methods--enduce PVC's!!! That will get them talking. LOLPosted 09-08-2011 at 11:18 AM by Kandra

Kandra, how did the cardio appt go? Any news?
I have PVCs as well. Such a pain and stress! Docs say they are fine and I am find, but I still think I want to find an electrophysiologist who has them as well lol!!!!
My electrophysiologist said that if I have runs over 30 seconds or the almost passing out feeling, to come back and see him.... But to try and worry less about my PVCs lol, easier said then done. I just want them gone!
I get them daily but they vary and the doc told me that stress can really contribute to them. I had the 30 day monitor and I think that thing stressed me out more then anything.... But it was nice to get such a simple result as PVCs, for all of us, it could have been much worse. We are blessed in many ways

Cardio appt went well. I have a very healthy heart, I just have PVC's. The more I get stressed about them, the more I have of them. So, I was told that I had a better chance of dying from lighting on a sunny day then I did from PVC's. So, I am just ignoring them. They do not exist to me anymore (easier said then done). But I just take one day at a time. Hang in there!!!Posted 09-19-2011 at 01:32 PM by Kandra

its definitely reassuring that people on here know what we are all going through. I wouldnt be stressed if i didnt have these. I even had an angiogram although my cardio was not totally in agreement with it. That turned out ok. I find it hard to be reassured. I want them to give me a magic pill so they disappear !!!......they are there when i,m not stressed or are my levels always up so i dont know what normal is anymore !!!.....Posted 09-19-2011 at 02:43 PM by Jules
